Construction & Built Environment Productivity Nexus (COBEPN) established under the Twelfth Malaysia Plan (12MP) is one of the Government’s initiatives to boost national productivity and economic growth through collaboration between the Government, industry players, and academia.
Under the Twelfth Malaysia Plan (12MP), productivity of the construction sector is expected to grow at an average rate of 3.8% per annum to RM46,200 supported by the increased adoption of modern construction technology and methods. In return, this will contribute 4.2% to the construction sector output growth.
Productivity Performance
The construction sector labour productivity performance has recorded a significant growth of 16.4 %, compared to the previous year of 4.9%. This shows that the Malaysia's construction sector is growing stronger than ever. Although the growth is improving, we are still considered lower (RM47,223) as compared to the national average performance of RM88,119.
